Our mission is to support teachers by creating a positive atmosphere around English-language learning. We promote creativity in teaching as our shows and other programs are all conceived as entertaining English lessons, a marriage between teaching and the world of entertainment.
We produce shows in English that students understand and enjoy, shows which make them feel good about themselves and motivated to learn more. We also offer workshops which make students speak clearly and feel empowered.
At the same time, we encourage teachers to stay creative, to engage effectively with their students, and thereby get more personal satisfaction from their work.
The Bear Educational Theatre officially started in Prague on November 1996 with a production of The Bear by Anton Chekhov.
Now it is the longest-running professional English theatre in the region and has played literally thousands of shows for tens of thousands of students all over Europe. You can read about the history of our theatre here.
